We can provide database design and development services for stand-alone databases, application back-ends and website back-ends.

Stand-alone Databases

Stand-alone databases are typically used for data-entry directly into the database by one user on one computer. Reports can then be prcduced from that database. The database development in this case would be carried out using a Microsoft Access database (any version between 2 and 2007). We would design the tables and layout of the database along with the data-entry forms and specified reports.

Club Membership Database - An example of a stand-alone database designed to allow the owner of a chain of night clubs to keep track of members. This is an Access 2000 database in Zip format.

Application Back-end

Applications that need to use data need somewhere to store that data. Depending on the size and type of application and data, Sunwright can offer several database design options. For relatively small amounts of data, we can have the data stored in XML files. For medium size applications or those to be used by only a few people, we can store the data in Microsoft Access or Excel files. And for larger applications, Microsoft SQL Server or MySql database development would be needed.

Whatever the size of the application, Sunwright can provide the database design and development for both the back-end data store and the front-end interface.

Website Back-end

Whether your website pulls figures from a database or is a full content management system, Sunwright can design the database and the website. We can design and develop databases using Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or XML. The majority of websites we create involve database design and development of some kind, from keeping track of members to extracting figures for reports or transfer into 3rd party systems.
